Anthony (Andy) H. Watts – Chairman of the Board
Andy Watts grew up in the construction industry, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He worked on various construction projects for Shields, Inc., Shelco, Inc. where his dedication and leadership skills led to his eventual appointment as the President of Shelco. Shelco has become one of the largest North Carolina based construction companies. During his career, Andy has been responsible for constructing various multi-million dollar projects and was instrumental in the development of over three million square feet of industrial, commercial and office space for The Shelton Companies.
After leaving Shelco, Andy started A. Watts Inc., a full-service general construction firm, specializing in design-build construction services.
Andy holds an Associates degree in Architectural Technology. He is also a licensed general contractor and has a North Carolina real estate brokers license. Andy was a founding board member for Southern Community Bank & Trust. Additionally, Andy has served on several community and charity boards including the Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce.
Bill Hollan – Board Member
With his interest in real estate, Bill Hollan is an Individual General Partner and LCC member in various real estate entities. Throughout his career he was involved in working for Tanglewood Park Foundation, Inc., North Carolina Stroke Foundation, First home Federal Services Corp., The Conference on Poverty, Roanoke Island Commission, Sci-Works, The Environmental Science Museum of Forsyth Co., and the Arts & Sciences Foundation, Inc.
Currently he is the President of Turnpike Properties, Inc., where he acts as a developer, owner and operator of residential, resort, utility and commercial properties.
Bill graduated from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar. Following graduation, he joined the USAF where he served for four years before finishing school with an MBA from the University of Hawaii.
Peter S. Donaldson – Board Member
Pete has been involved with Construction and Computers from an early age. His father was a General Contractor in the Washington D.C. area and during high school Pete and his brother operated a small residential asphalt paving company. Pete graduated in 1982 from Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH with a B.A. in Business Administration. Follow graduation Pete bought his first computer and used it extensively to support his financial planning practice that he founded and operated in Cumberland, MD for seven years. After selling his financial planning practice Pete moved south to obtain his MBA from the Wake Forest University Babcock School of Management where he graduated in 1991 with distinction.
Pete has continued to use his skills in management, finance, computers and real estate for the past 16 years as the administrator and personal financial advisor to the 6 physicians associated with Digestive Health Specialists, P.A., a 55 employee gastroenterology medical practice located in Winston-Salem, NC. As a result of Pete’s leadership and belief in computer assisted technology, Digestive Health Specialists has been an early adopter of healthcare information technology. Digestive Health Specialists was the first gastroenterology medical practices in the state of North Carolina to install a computerized health information system enabling them to serve patient in more timely and high quality manner with a totally electronic patient medical record.
In addition to his responsibilities with Digestive Health Specialists, Pete has served as President and Principal Consultant with Medical Business Associates, Inc., a consulting company Pete founded to provide other medical practices in the Winston Salem area with operations, information systems and real estate management, development and consulting services.
Pete currently serves as Managing Partner of Piedmont Capital, LLC a private real estate and investment partnership; Member of Board of Advisors of Gmed, Inc a privately held electronic medical record software company and Member of Board of Advisors Ntierprise Medical Practice Management Software for Allscripts, Inc a publicly traded Healthcare Software company; and Limited Partner, Academy Venture Fund, LLC a Raleigh, NC early stage venture capital company.
Mike Detwiler – Board Member
Mike Detwiler has successfully managed growth and change inside some of the world's most innovative companies for more than 25 years. He has held senior management roles in major corporations and start-up companies, and his broad functional expertise includes business planning, product management, and strategic marketing. Mike has spent most of his career in the technology and financial services industries.
Prior to founding BLUERIDGE Analytics, Mike was president of The Detwiler Group, a consulting firm that specialized in taking emerging businesses to their next level of growth. His clients included Shareholder.com, an Internet-based investor communications company; Darwin Partners, an IT consulting firm; and Mediastream, a marketing agency targeting clients in services, technology, and manufacturing. Acting as interim CEO, he led Mediastream to profitability by winning large contracts and establishing critical production and financial controls.
Mike began his career at Bell Labs, followed by senior management positions at The Boeing Company and Thomson Financial Services. At Thomson, he developed the business plan and secured corporate funding for Research Direct, an investment research platform that generated approximately $100 million of revenue in three years. Mike earned an M.S. in computer science from Northwestern University and a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
Mike believes in the power of teams and that effective leadership is strategy-based, process-oriented and grounded by integrity. This philosophy, combined with an unwavering focus on maximizing shareholder value, drives his daily decision-making at BLUERIDGE.
